In the years when the death penalty was still legal in Turkey, Arkın was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit. Cüneyt, on the other hand, was imprisoned in the same prison for a minor injury offense. However, he frequently received solitary confinement for standing up against injustices in the prison.
